Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s second Vande Bharat express is set to start its service in Kerala from 24th September. The tireless efforts behind this remarkable achievement can be attributed to the dedicated team led by the BJP state president, K. Surendran, who worked relentlessly to secure this milestone.

The central railway minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced the sanctioning of the second Vande Bharat train for the state of Kerala on July 6, 2023. Following the announcement, on the very same day, K. Surendran and his team met with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the necessary details and logistics for the Vande Bharat project. The BJP state president personally took to social media to share this momentous news, underscoring the party’s commitment to bringing this prestigious train service to the people of Kerala.

Yet another good news for Kerala. Hon'ble Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji has assured to allocate one more Vande Bharat Express to Kerala. The official announcement will be made very soon. The train will run between the Kasargod – Trivandrum route.

The newly sanctioned Vande Bharat express will feature a total of eight coaches.  It will run from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram via Alappuzha, covering key cities and towns along its route. The train’s schedule is designed to accommodate the convenience of travelers. It will depart from Kasaragod at 7 a.m. and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram at 3:05 p.m. The return journey will commence from Thiruvananthapuram at 4:05 PM, reaching Kasaragod at 11:55 PM. The service will be available six days a week, offering frequent and accessible transportation options for the people of Kerala.

Stations along the route will include Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam South, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, and Kannur, ensuring that the Vande Bharat train serves as a crucial and well-connected transport link in the state.

The first Vande Bharat train, considered a Vishu gift to the people of Kerala, has already made a significant impact with its state-of-the-art facilities and innovative travel experience. Within just a month of its launch, it has witnessed a record number of passengers who have chosen to travel aboard this modern marvel.
