THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amidst several controversies surrounding the Karuvannur Cooperative bank scam, a meeting of the CPI(M)’s Thrissur district secretariat committee is scheduled for today. The meeting will be attended by CPI(M)’s Kerala state secretary, M.V. Govindan.
Similarly, in light of several left-wing leaders being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and being alleged to be involved in the scam case, today’s meeting takes on added significance. Several sources have reported that strategies to counter the Enforcement Directorate’s actions will also be discussed during the meeting.
However, the Karuvannur scam issue is once again dominating the agenda of the CPI(M). A section of leaders within the party is not responding to the issue, highlighting differing opinions on the bank scam among the Thrissur CPI(M) leaders. The state leadership is also expressing dissatisfaction with the sectarianism persisting in Thrissur.
Despite the victims of the Karuvannur Cooperative bank scam being CPI(M) grassroots-level members, today’s meeting will also focus on restoring the trust of workers at the grassroots level.
Simultaneously, Janam TV has obtained an exclusive audio recording that establishes a connection between P. Satish Kumar, the main accused in the Karuvannur scam, and CPI(M) leaders.
Janam TV has published the audio recording, which reveals that P. Satish Kumar, Wadakanchery Municipal Standing Committee Chairman PR Aravindakshan, and Councilor Madhu Ambalappuram are involved in a hotel business in Athani, Thrissur.
