Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI, the junior partner of CPI(M) in the LDF, made scathing criticisms against the state government and Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. The criticisms arose during the party’s state council meeting. The communist party accused the government of corruption and accused it of being under the control of real estate-quarry mafia.
During the council meeting, the party assessed that the government’s face has been marred and is not able to face the people like this. If the government goes forward without rectifying its mistakes then there will be a huge backlash in the coming Lok Sabha Elections.
The communist party also trained its guns against Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. It criticized that the CM do not have any humility. Travelling with fifty escort vehicles is wrong. There is no use in criticizing the media for everything and added that the explanation given in the monthly payment controversy involving his daughter is unsatisfactory.
Surprisingly, the CPI also criticized its own two Ministers in the Cabinet. Nothing is being done in the offices of these Ministers. The Agriculture and Revenue Ministers are never available, complained a CPI leader, and added that they are not doing anything. The CPI holds the agriculture and revenue ministries in the LDF government.
CPI is the junior partner of the CPI(M) in the Left Democratic Front government of Kerala. Both the communist parties have frequent bickering and quarrels. The rift in the relation between the parties came out into the open in Alappuzha recently when CPI(M) became uneasy after many of its own members threatened to quit the party and join the CPI.
