Thiruvananthapuram: The central government’s Mission Indradhanush Mission 5.0 has marked a triumph in the state of Kerala. Health Minister Veena George announced that the second phase of the mission has seen impressive results, with 91 percent of children and a commendable 100 percent of pregnant women successfully vaccinated. Additionally, a total of 1,654 children, who were previously unvaccinated, have now received the necessary vaccinations.
The district-wise breakdown of vaccinations in the second phase is as follows:
• Thiruvananthapuram: 9,844,
• Kollam: 2,997
• Alappuzha: 3,392
• Pathanamthitta: 2,059
• Kottayam: 3,503
• Idukki: 2,160
• Ernakulam: 4,291
• Thrissur: 5,847
• Palakkad: 9,795
• Malappuram: 21,582
• Kozhikode: 7,580
• Wayanad: 1,996
• Kannur: 5,868
• Kasaragod: 4,566
The upcoming third phase of Mission Indradhanush is scheduled to take place from October 9 to 14.
Mission Indradhanush, launched by the central government, is a strategic initiative aimed at achieving a 90 percent immunisation rate for children within the next five years. The programme provides essential medicines to combat diseases such as whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles, and jaundice.
