Thiruvananthapuram: The accused, involved in the molestation of a minor Dalit girl, has been arrested. The accused was identified as Muhammad Minshad, a resident of Kalikavu, Malappuram. He was taken into custody following the incident that unfolded after he met the victim on the social media platform Instagram.
Minshad, who is employed at a private firm in Kottiyam, Kollam, forcibly took the girl from Attingal to his residence in Kottiyam, on his friend, Adarsh’s bike. Both Minshad and Adarsh had been residing together in a flat associated with their workplace.
The events came to light when the girl’s parents discovered her disappearance and promptly reported it to the police. Subsequent investigations led the police to the accused’s flat, where the victim was found. Disturbingly, the victim testified to enduring physical abuse while at the flat. Following an interrogation process, the authorities officially arrested Minshad. Adarsh was then taken into custody for his involvement in aiding Minshad by providing the means of transportation.
Scientific evidence related to the case was collected from the location in Kottiyam. The accused individuals were subsequently presented before the Attingal court, where they have been remanded into custody pending further legal proceedings.
