Thiruvananthapuram: KP Basit will be questioned again in the recruitment scam related to the office of the Health Minister. The police asked KP Basit, the friend of complainant Haridasan, to appear at the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Station on Saturday. Basit is the former district president of AISF Malappuram.
At the same time, the police informed that Akhil Sajeev, the main accused in the scam, also committed a huge fraud in Kottayam. The information was obtained from the WhatsApp chat of Raheez, who was arrested the other day. It is also suspected that the gang has committed fraud in various places in the state. It has also been found that money was extorted from the agency assuring security appointment in Kottayam Medical College.
Apart from Lenin, Akhil Sajeev and Raheez, the accused in the case, some Kottayam-based fraud gangs are also believed to be involved in this. In this regard, the police will register a separate case and conduct an investigation. The Cantonment Police will hand over the report to Kottayam SP today. Raheez will be taken into custody again and questioned.
The investigation team had found that Rahees created a fake email under the guise of the AYUSH Mission, further deepening suspicions of a conspiracy. AYUSH Mission had claimed the appointment-related mail being propagated in its name in connection with the scam to be supposedly fake. The mail id was also reportedly non-existent.
Akhil Sajeev and Lenin Raj the accused in the alleged fake job scam linked to Kerala Health Minister Veena George’s office are still in hiding. The search for them is going on. But Haridasan, a native of Malappuram, who filed the complaint, has not appeared at the Cantonment station yet. The police suspect that he went into hiding.
