Thiruvananthapuram: Police arrested two members of a gang, which attempted to attack two brothers, working in the military, with petrol bombs and swords in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested persons hail from Kallara in Thiruvananthapuram. The police also confiscated petrol bombs and swords from the accused.
The incident occurred near Kallara Thaniyum Panchayat Stadium at 11 pm yesterday. The gang reached the area with petrol bombs and swords to attack the brothers. However, the timely intervention of the police stopped the gang from launching the attack. Two members of the gang escaped in the melee with the police.
The issue began at a liquor bar in Kallara, where Rafeeq and Siddhique got into an argument with the brothers. Following this, both of the groups filed a complaint at Pangode Police Station. While the brothers came out from the police station, the gang again began a quarrel with them. However, the gang withdrew soon after realizing the presence of local residents.
By 11 pm Rafeeq, Siddhique and others reached near the home of the brothers by the Thaniyum Panchayat Stadium armed with petrol bombs and swords.
Fortunately, a police night patrol team passing by the area noticed the gang. Seeing the police, the gang startled and tried to escape. The police officers quickly apprehended Rafeeq and Siddhique but the rest escaped.
