CPI(M) should refrain from baseless remarks, how can ED’s money laundering probe be connected to Suresh Gopi: Justice B Kemal Pasha

Ernakulam: Former Justice B Kemal Pasha strongly criticized the CPI(M) regarding the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. He bluntly dismissed the concept that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is favoring Suresh Gopi, stating that the investigation into money laundering should not be trivialized. He asked what does ED coming to the conclusion that certain CPI(M) leaders were responsible for the scam has to do with Suresh Gopi.

Throughout the years, politicians, not the ED, have been diverting funds in Karuvannur. The revelation of money laundering by the ED, according to him, is unrelated to Suresh Gopi. He questioned how such exposure could benefit Suresh Gopi and said that the CPI(M) is merely spreading false information.

He further asked whether the CPI(M) would portray robbing the bank as an accomplishment. He said that the CPI(M) might present the bank looting and the allocation of 40 pilot vehicles to the Chief Minister as achievements to the public. He suggested that CPI(M) leaders should contemplate by looking at themselves in the mirror to determine if the party’s face is distorted.

“There is no point in saying that my face is fine without looking in the mirror,” Justice Kemal Pasha said.
