THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State President K Surendran vehemently criticised pro-Hamas statements from Kerala. Surendran said that, in the context of Hamas terrorists from Palestine carrying terrorism in Israel, leaders from CPI (M), Congress, and the Muslim League are making pro-Hamas sentiments in Kerala. Surendran criticised the pro-Hamas leaders of Kerala through a social media post.
He added that such pro-Hamas statements from the leaders in Kerala do not analyse the real situation in Israel; instead, they support terrorism. Prime Minister Modi had a conversation with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the phone to better understand the situation.
Surendran then pointed out that some political leaders in Kerala are making pro-Hamas statements primarily to oppose our Prime Minister’s extension of support to Israel as a way to express an anti-terrorism stance. However, without understanding the true nature of Hamas’s terrorist activities, leaders from CPI (M), Congress, and the Muslim League are engaging in opportunistic politics against the central government.
He added that these pro-Hamas statements from the leaders also express their hatred towards Hindu and Christian believers.
Surendran made this post after the Congress Working Committee passed a pro-Palestine resolution. Senior leaders in the CPI(M) party have also taken a similar stance by supporting the Hamas terrorist group in Palestine.
