Palakkad: The police registered a case in response to the reported disappearance of the Nenmara Panchayat Assistant Secretary. The case has been registered based on the complaint of Zubair Ali’s son who said that his father was upset due to threats from the CPI(M). Police have conducted a search for Zubair Ali in Tamil Nadu, but unfortunately, his mobile phone is switched off.
Zubair Ali has been missing since yesterday afternoon. He left a letter in his office stating that Kollengode CPI(M) Area Secretary is constantly threatening him. After that he went missing and his phone got switched off. The letter also states that on October 4, CPI(M) members had created trouble in the panchayath office under the leadership of Vice President.
As per Zubair’s letter, the officials of the gram panchayat were recently threatened by the leaders of the CPI(M). Following the threat by CPI(M) leaders, chairperson of the health standing committee filed a false complaint on his behalf. The initial finding of the police is that the subsequent mental pressure may have prompted Zubair Ali to leave the house. The police informed that further investigation is being conducted in the incident.
