THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Surendran, the BJP state president, has strongly criticized CPI(M) leaders for their pro-Hamas statements. He expressed his disapproval of these statements in a social media post.
Surendran emphasised that CPI(M) leaders in Kerala have been expressing pro-Hamas sentiments in the context of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which is associated with acts of terrorism in Israel. He went on to condemn senior leaders such as MA Baby, Sitaram Yechury, and M Swaraj for making statements that support terrorism.
In particular, Surendran criticised M Swaraj, a CPI(M) leader, for a Facebook post that seemed to glorify Hamas’ acts of terrorism. He raised concerns about the CPI(M) seemingly supporting such terrorist activities.
He emphasised that it is disheartening to see that some individuals in our own country are support to Hamas terrorists. These terrorists have been publicly implicated in a range of heinous acts, including assaulting women, desecrating corpses, brutally killing children, and advocating for the establishment of an Islamic state worldwide. Despite these troubling activities, the CPI(M) appears to be supporting Hamas, possibly for political gain.
Surendran concluded that the CPI(M) has adopted a stance in support of Muslim terrorism, not only among its leaders but also as a vote-banking strategy employed by its members.
