Thiruvananthapuram: The first ship of Vizhinjam port Shenhua 15, will receive an official welcome today. The reception, scheduled for 4 p.m., will witness the presence of Union Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the chief guest.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, State Ports Minister Ahammad Devarkovil and Adani Group CEO Karan Adani, along with other dignitaries, are expected to grace the occasion. The welcoming ceremony will commence with the mooring . Following this, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the conference.
A Super Post Panamax crane, towering at a height of 100 meters and extending 60 meters into the sea, along with two shore cranes standing at a height of 30 meters was also brought in the ship . These cranes will be placed on the berth after their removal from the ship the next day. In total, eight Super Post Panamax cranes and 32 shore cranes are slated for deployment.
