Thiruvananthapuram: The recent heavy rains in Thiruvananthapuram led to significant damage. Allegations arose stating that Marvellous Design Studio, a startup company, were not notified about the water entering into Technopark. Marvellous Design Studio reported losses amounting to Rs 30 lakh due to the lack of notifications of rain.

Despite the flood threat, information about the rising water levels inside Technopark  was only communicated at 8 a.m. The company mentioned that no one was present in the office as it was a holiday when the incident occurred. The rains from the previous day had resulted in water entering Technopark, causing losses to numerous companies.

Thiruvananthapuram experienced extensive damage due to heavy rains, particularly affecting hilly and urban areas. The overflow of the Thettiyar led to the complete submersion of an entire village, with the impact reaching Technopark. City areas, including Kannammoola, Jagathi, Vellayani, and Gowreesapattom, were notably affected by the rainfall. In Chaka, the road faced complete submersion.
