‘Don’t tie rakhi, don’t distribute ABVP membership’; SFI activists locks girl student in a classroom in Kannur

Kannur: SFI members locked an ABVP activist in a classroom at Kannur Government Polytechnic College. The girl, who is a first year graduate student, was locked in the classroom in connection with the distribution of ABVP membership.

The SFI activists had questioned the girl for wearing a rakhi on her wrist to college. They kept the student locked inside a dimly lit room for several hours. The student revealed that the SFI workers insisted, she write on a white paper, acknowledging what she did was wrong.

Currently, the girl is under the care of teachers. ABVP activists expressed concern, stating that ABVP’s activities on the college campus are restricted, and even the act of tying a rakhi is being questioned.
