THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijan’s scientific advisor, MC Dathan, verbally assaulted journalists today. The incident occurred during the Secretariat blockade organised by the UDF in protest against the corrupt administration of the LDF government in Kerala. As a result of the protest, public transportation in Thiruvananthapuram was diverted by the police from the morning.
During the morning, as MC Dathan was on his way to the Secretariat in his vehicle, was also stopped by the police near the Secretariat annex building, as they were unaware of his identity as the scientific advisor. However, some journalists quickly informed the police, and he was granted permission to enter the Secretariat. However, his vehicle was not allowed to proceed, and he entered by walk.
Subsequently, news reporters attempted to inquire about the incident, to which Dathan responded with an angry outburst. He shouted at the reporters, saying, “Don’t you have any other work? Otherwise, you might as well go begging.”
When questioned about his impolite response, he angrily walked away without offering any further comments.
