Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has sought clarity regarding government-issued bills and has formally requested the government to provide clarification. He has assured that once the requested information is provided, he will take the necessary steps accordingly. The governor has expressed his willingness to engage in a debate or dispute if the government deems it necessary.
Governor welcomed the High Court’s verdict in favour of former KTU VC Ciza Thomas, and noted that he did not respond to the Chief Minister’s stand that he should not visit Raj Bhavan. He pointed out that it was the government’s attempts to challenge the Raj Bhavan that led to the issuance of a show-cause notice against the Vice Chancellor appointed by the governor.
Furthermore, the governor sought an explanation from the government on the Land Act amendment bill passed by the cabinet in response to a complaint received regarding the bill. The governor has indicated that he will take additional actions after receiving the government’s response.
