THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, G.R. Anil, has issued a directive to freeze an order issued by the Public Distribution Department, which had imposed a schedule for ration distribution in Kerala. This directive comes in response to the Public Distribution Department issuing a circular to reschedule the distribution time without the minister’s knowledge.
It has been reported that Minister Anil is unsatisfied that the order was issued without informing him.
On October 23rd (yesterday), a circular was issued by the state Public Distribution Department, stating that rations will be distributed until the 15th of every month to priority category cardholders with yellow and pink cards, and thereafter only to general category cardholders with blue and white cards.
However, the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, GR Anil, has expressed that there is no need for such a new arrangement at this time.
Speaking to the media, Anil emphasized, “Neither I nor my office has given any such instructions.” He then clarified that the order issued without permission would be frozen.
