Thiruvananthapuram: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to make significant visits to Kerala. Nadda’s visit is scheduled for the 30th of this month, where he will inaugurate the NDA’s secretariat march, aimed at protesting against the alleged corruption in the administration of the left front government and demanding justice in the Karuvannur bank fraud case. Following this, Amit Shah will arrive in the second week of December to inaugurate the state-level ‘Janajagaranayathra,’ which will be led by BJP state president K Surendran. Shah is also expected to address a rally in Thiruvananthapuram.
Surendran will spearhead the ‘Janajagaranayathra,’ a rally from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod, accompanied by approximately 25,000 party workers. The yathra will cover all 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, with central leaders participating in reception meetings at key locations.
During November 1 to 20, evening meetings are planned at around 2000 centres throughout the state, focusing on various issues, including the Karuvannur case. The central leadership emphasizes the importance of continuing public engagement even after the secretariat march. They have also directed a significant change in the state BJP organization, emphasizing the need to enhance its image and adopt a more serious approach to politics.
In light of these developments, the central leadership has forbade state leaders from making unnecessary statements to the media, allowing only the leader appointed by the state president to interact with journalists. Furthermore, a training camp for approximately 2900 party representatives is scheduled for the third week of November. This camp will provide training and guidance on how to expand the party’s presence and actively participate in governance.
