THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi has recently become the target of widespread obscene propaganda, with allegations of misconduct involving a news reporter.
In response to these allegations, several artists have expressed their support for Suresh Gopi, referring to this attack as politically fabricated.
Meanwhile, amidst several cyber attacks against Suresh Gopi, popular dubbing artist and actress Bhagya Lakshmi expressed her support for him while attending a discussion on a Malayalam private TV news channel, Media One, yesterday. She said, “I have known Suresh Gopi for several years, and no one who has known Suresh for a long time would believe such false allegations against him.”
Bhagya Lakshmi also raised a question, “Why didn’t the journalist who is now making the complaint respond back then? If the journalist was hurt, she should have informed him, but instead, she repeated the questions with a smile.” After watching the controversial video clip, it seems that Suresh Gopi’s actions were harmless. She then added, “I have objections to Suresh Gopi’s political ideology, but I stand for justice, and therefore, I support Suresh Gopi.”
Meanwhile, another popular television journalist, MV Nikesh Kumar, also stated that Suresh Gopi would never behave with bad intentions. Nikesh was responding to a situation after a case was registered against Suresh Gopi under IPC section 354 A, and the issue is becoming a controversial topic on several media platforms. Nikesh mentioned that the police have registered a case based on the journalist’s complaint, and beyond that, there is no need for a campaign. He also pointed out that in the incident, Suresh Gopi had already expressed his apology, and therefore, there is no need to continue such controversy.
The ‘Mimicry Artists Association (MAA)’ came out in support of Suresh Gopi, describing him as a man of humanity. MAA also pointed out, “No one who knows Suresh Gopi would spread such fake news. If their goal is politics, they should have the strength to address it politically.”
Following this, several individuals reacted to the cyber attacks on Suresh Gopi, calling it a cheap political agenda of the left-wing against the BJP leader and social activist. Some pointed out that character assassination and defamation are regular tactics employed by the left-wing, and Suresh Gopi is their target. Some also mentioned that such allegations are fabricated with a particular agenda, especially since the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, and opposing parties are deliberately trying to defame Suresh Gopi.
In response to the allegations, several personalities from the film industry have expressed their support for Suresh Gopi. Actor Baburaj, Beena Antony, Sreevidya Mullachery, and other television artists, including Anumol and Sadhika Venugopal, have also extended their support to Suresh Gopi, denouncing the issue as a fake propaganda attack against him.
