Malappuram: The Intelligence Bureau have put Jamaat-e-Islami’s youth wing, Solidarity Youth Movement, under surveillance after the group hosted an online speech of founding member of Hamas terrorist group. The IB is strictly monitoring Solidarity’s financial dealings and its social media activities.
The Solidarity Youth Movement organized the meeting last Friday in which one of the founders of Hamas, Khaled Mashal made an online speech in Arabic. The meeting was organized to resist Zionism and Hindutva.
The intelligence sources say that the Solidarity organized the pro-Palestine program in a bid to promote the extremist ideology of Hamas in the state. Solidarity is trying to build up anti-national sentiments by hosting the leader of an organization that has no support of Bharat.
Solidarity had first planned to host Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh. However, due to some issues it was cancelled at the last moment. Following this, Solidarity screened the speech of one of the founding members of Hamas, Khaled Mashal.
The information about the pro-Hamas program was given to the Intelligence Bureau by central intelligence earlier itself. Thus the program by Solidarity was under the surveillance of the intelligence department. The IB has collected all the details including digital evidences.
The Solidarity Youth Movement has begun to increase its activities after the ban imposed on the Popular Front of India (PFI). Because of their increased activities, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has begun to monitor Solidarity’s activities more closely. Jamaat-e-Islami activists used to work in PFI before the ban. Investigation team believes that after the ban of PFI, the members have returned back to Jamaat-e-Islami.
