Thiruvananthapuram: V Muraleedharan strongly criticized the Kerala Government for extravagant spending on the Keraleeyam program while the people of Kerala are grappling with the state’s economic crisis. He questioned the benefits of Keraleeyam program for the people of Kerala.
Muraleedharan pointed out that Keraleeyam is run by people who have not paid pensions to the pensioners for 4 months. He also accused the Kerala government of giving false expenditure figures to the central government. V Muraleedharan made these remarks while inaugurating a one-day workshop of the National Democratic Alliance in Cherthala.
According to him, by conducting Keraleeyam without fulfilling its welfare pension commitments, Pinarayi Vijayan’s government is making a mockery of the people of Kerala. He remarked that the Pinarayi government is daring enough to organize such an extravagant program with celebrities like Kamal Hassan, for those who can’t even afford basic medicines.
Muraleedharan went on to say that Finance Minister KN Balagopal is a slave to Pinarayi Vijayan and a disgrace to Kerala. He criticized the state government’s initiative to conduct a tennis tournament named after the Chief Minister. He said, “Now, another extravagant initiative is on the horizon, a tennis tournament named after the Chief Minister. The expense for this is Rs 82 lakhs.” The Union Minister mockingly added that international tennis stars like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic might be eagerly waiting for the trophy named after Pinarayi Vijayan.
Union Minister V Muralidharan also criticized that the ruling party and the opposition in Kerala are working as a single front. He said, “As VD Satheesan stated when he became the leader of the opposition, they are functioning as a cooperative opposition. The Congress and LDF are trying to become apostles of terror politics.”
The event was attended by BJP State President K Surendran, Vice Chairman PK Krishnadas, State Convener Tushar Vellapalli, and Kummanam Rajasekharan.
