Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala will experience heavy rainfall today. An “orange alert” was issued for Ernakulam and Malappuram districts and a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Wayanad districts.
Isolated heavy rains will persist across the state due to a cyclonic circulation over North Tamil Nadu and easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. The central and northern districts of Kerala are expected to experience heavy rainfall while southern hilly areas are also expected to experience heavy rainfall.
Additionally, the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning for coastal residents, advising them to be cautious as high tides are expected. Fishermen have been urged to refrain from venturing into the sea.
