Thiruvananthapuram: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has once again ignited a controversy with the display of an alleged anti-national poster during the first-year student admission ceremony at Thiruvananthapuram Law Academy College. The contents of the poster have raised concerns about their stance on nationalism. The poster prominently conveys messages such as the insignificance of national consciousness, the unimportance of political borders, and the idea that everyone is a global heir. The SFI’s law academy unit shared an image of this poster on social media, calling for a disregard for national consciousness.
This welcoming board, intended for newcomers, also includes a declaration of solidarity with the people of Palestine. This incident is not the first time SFI has set up such controversial slogan boards in educational institutions. Several months ago, a similar board was displayed at Palakkad Victoria College, which was criticized for undermining national identity. SFI has previously been involved in activities perceived as anti-national, often in the name of freedom of expression.
