THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The arrival of the second ship at Vizhinjam International Port is currently facing delays. The port authority has reported that the cargo ship ZHEN HUA 29 is being delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
Previously, it was announced that the ZHEN HUA 29, carrying six yards bound for Vizhinjam Port, was expected to arrive on November 9 at around 8 am. However, it is now reported that the ship is expected to reach the outer sea later this afternoon.
ZHEN HUA 29 embarked from China on October 24, carrying Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes for Vizhinjam International Port in Thiruvananthapuram.
Furthermore, it has been informed that two more ships are expected to arrive on November 25 and December 15. These arrivals will bring a total of eight huge cranes and 24 yard cranes required for the port.
On October 15, the official inaugural docking of the first cargo ship, Zhen Hua 15, at Vizhinjam International Seaport was successfully conducted, and the public was also allowed to participate in the inaugural ceremony.
Subsequently, on October 25, Zhen Hua 15, the first cargo ship, returned to the port after successfully berthing three massive cranes for the port.
