Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department issues a yellow alert for two districts , including Ernakulam and Palakkad. These districts have been warned to expect persistent rain, thunderstorms, and lightning throughout the day.
Isolated places in the state are forecast to experience rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, with the possibility of strong wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 km per hour. The India Meteorological Department has indicated that this weather pattern is expected to persist for the next five days.
In addition to the heavy rainfall, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Centre has issued a warning about the possibility of 1.0 to 1.3-metre-high waves and storm surges along the Kerala coast until 11:30 tonight. Along the South Tamil Nadu coast, a similar situation is expected, with waves and storm surges potentially reaching heights of 1.0 to 1.4 metres at the same time.
