Thiruvananthapuram : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that, a low-pressure system is expected to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal by November 15. There are concerns that this low-pressure may intensify by November 16.
As of now, no special rain warnings have been issued for any districts in Kerala. However, the Meteorological Department has advised residents to stay vigilant, as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall when the low-pressure system strengthens.
Additionally, the Meteorological Department has issued warnings about the potential for high waves along the coasts of Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu. People are strongly urged to stay away from dangerous areas, and avoid trips to the beach and sea excursions until further notice.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Centre has specifically highlighted the risk of high waves ranging from 10 to 12 metres along the Kerala coast until 11:30 tonight. A similar warning has been issued for the southern Tamil Nadu coast, with the possibility of waves reaching 1.0 to 1.5 metres.
