KOZHIKODE: The Nadakkavu Police in Kozhikode district denied entry to the Janam TV news reporters who were there to report the appearance of actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi at the station.
The police denied access to news reporters while covering the large public turnout at the police station showing support for Suresh Gopi. During this event, Janam TV’s reporter, Prajith, was assaulted by the police while reporting the news. This led to controversy and permission was granted after the arrival of senior police officials.
Today, Suresh Gopi visited Nadakkavu Police Station in response to allegations raised by a news reporter. Simultaneously, thousands of his supporters gathered to express solidarity with the leader.
However, as other news reporters arrived at the police station to report the developments, the police suddenly imposed strict restrictions on media coverage. Eventually, senior police officers intervened and granted permission for reporting.
Alongside Suresh Gopi’s appearance, BJP Kerala state president and other senior BJP leaders like K Surendran, Shobha Surendran, MT Ramesh, and PK Krishnadas also arrived at the police station.
Allegations have surfaced that the police targeted the public who arrived there to express support for the leader.
