Monsoon will arrive on the coast of Kerala within 24 hours says IMD

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the south west monsoons will hit Kerala within 24 hours. The IMD said that the monsoon clouds continued to  move gradually towards the mainland.

Heavy rainfall is expected to fall in Kerala.

IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in North Eastern states including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura in three to four days.

The Met department reported that thunderstorms and lightening with high speed winds will strike in isolated places in Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Kerala, which faced one of its worst floods in recorded history last year, is bracing itself for this year’s monsoons. The horrors of last year’s floods is still fresh in the memory of every Keralite who underwent the ordeal.

The state is still reeling after the floods of 2018 and with an insensitive communist government ruling the state, the struggles seems to never end for those who lost everything.

Currently, the Pinarayi government is facing embarrassment  after revealing that no funds were collected by the Chief Minister on his gulf trips to mobilize funds for rebuilding the state.

The government is already facing backlash from the people for failing to manage the opening of the dams which led to untold misery and financial woes. However, the communist government has not admitted to their failures and still continues to shift the blame to the Central government which was instrumental in helping Kerala.
