Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is set to question the former president of Kandala bank and CPI leader N Bhasurangan once again in connection with the Kandala Co-operative Bank fraud case. Bhasurangan has been instructed to appear at the ED office in Kochi tomorrow. Additionally, the ED has directed him to submit his bank statements and property details.

ED had earlier interrogated Bhasurangan on Monday and Thursday regarding the Kandala Co-operative Bank fraud case. Both Bhasurangan and his son, Akhil Jith, appeared before the ED for questioning. Earlier, in connection with the case, the ED had conducted raids at the bank in Thiruvananthapuram and Bhasurangan’s residence, seizing relevant documents.

The Kandala Co-operative Bank fraud case involves a substantial irregularity amounting to crores of rupees, leading to financial losses for over 1500 investors. Following the revelation of Bhasurangan’s role in the case, he was expelled from the CPI.
