THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the revelation of fake identity card creation by Youth Congress members to secure victories in the Youth Congress Organisation election, K Surendran, the BJP Kerala state president, lodged a complaint with the State Election Officer.
It has been reported that in the recent election of the Youth Congress Organisation, forged voter’s identification cards of the Election Commission of India were produced. This information was brought to light through investigative reporting by Janam TV.
Janam TV found out that Youth Congress members utilized a mobile application named CR Card to create these fake voter identity cards of the Election Commission of India. It is reported that the mobile application could generate a counterfeit card within 5 minutes, capable of being printed on PVC cards. Around 1.25 lakh such fake identity cards have been prepared by the Youth Congress members.
Considering the potential threat to national security, Surendran raised his concerns with the Chief Election Officer of the state. While this time the forged ID cards of the Election Commission of India were used for the internal elections of the Youth Congress, there’s concern that a similar strategy could be applied in general elections.
In his complaint, Surendran highlighted news reports identifying a PR company in Bangalore as the source of the forged identity cards, adding another layer of complexity to this violation. He earnestly and urgently requested a prompt and thorough investigation to halt this unethical and illegal activity of the Congress Party and its youth wing.
Surendran urged authorities to apprehend the guilty parties to maintain the integrity of the Election Commission and safeguard the democratic essence of the country.
