Kollam: A four-and-a-half-year-old boy named Neeraj, son of Thilakan, was severely injured in an attack by stray dogs. The attack occurred yesterday morning. According to the residents, Neeraj went into the yard and was pulled away by stray dogs.
Neeraj sustained injuries to various parts of his body, including his private parts, neck, thighs, back of the head, and forehead. Thilakan’s friend Santhosh, upon observing the situation, saved Neeraj from the stray dogs. Currently, the young boy is undergoing treatment in the emergency department of the district hospital.
Local residents have expressed concern over the increasing frequency of stray dog attacks in the district. They report that such incidents have become a common occurrence, with many people getting bitten by stray dogs daily, leading them to seek medical attention. Additionally, locals claim that the sterilisation activities initiated by the Animal Protection Department have come to a halt.
