Pathanamthitta: Despite heavy rains, devotees continue to flock to Sabarimala. Yesterday, a total of 38,000 devotees arrived to seek darshan. Anticipating a similar way, approximately 50,000 devotees are expected today.
During the initial three days, a total of 1,61,789 devotees arrived for darshan, with 37,848 opting for the virtual queue system. 94 Ayyappans undertook the journey to Sannidhanam through the ‘Pullumedu’.
The forest path for Ayyappa devotees was opened recently. So far, there have been no reports of disturbances from wild animals or any other issues. The Devaswom Board expresses optimism, expecting a surge in the number of devotees visiting Sannidhanam in the upcoming days.
For enhanced security along the forest road, the forest department has deployed approximately 50 personnel. Simultaneously, as the Mandalam period has started, performing arts groups have come to the Shasta Auditorium in Sannidhanam to perform.
