Kozhikode: In a recent directive, government employees in Kozhikode have been instructed to actively participate in the upcoming campaign procession of Nava Kerala Sadas. The procession, a collaborative effort between the Kozhikode District Panchayat and district administration, aims to enhance public participation.
The President of Kozhikode District Panchayat, Sheeja Shashi, issued a letter to department heads at the civil station instructing all officers to compulsorily take part in the procession scheduled for tomorrow. The letter emphasizes the importance of ensuring the smooth functioning of the civil station even as employees engage in the campaign event.
This directive follows the controversial decision to involve schoolchildren in the Nava Kerala Sadas. District Education Officers (DEO) had instructed a minimum of 200 students from each school to participate. The DEO’s directive was issued after a meeting with Head Masters convened by the Tirurangadi DEO. It became the subject of discussion even before the official circular was released. The High Court had earlier prohibited the use of school buses for the Nava Kerala Sadas.
