Idukki: Allegations of financial fraud have emerged in connection with job offers through the Public Service Commission (PSC). The incident unfolded in Peerumedu, Thodupuzha, leading to the filing of a case against two CPI leaders based on a woman’s complaint.
The accused in the case are former CPI Peerumedu constituency secretary, Chandran Pillai, and R Vinod, the former personal staff of MLA Vazhur Soman. The complainant states that she was promised a job and, in the process, was extorted Rs 3,15,000 by the accused individuals.
The complainant, identified as Sindhu from Meleparambu in Elappara, was assured a teaching position through the PSC. The fraudulent activity took place in 2017, and Sindhu, who is on the supplementary list for a teaching post, fell victim to the scam. The accused allegedly duped her twice, claiming that the extorted money would secure her a place on the main list. The police said that a case has been registered and further action will be taken.
