KOZHIKODE: A complaint was lodged against Ahammad Devarkovil, Kerala’s Minister for Ports, addressing it to the Chief Minister during the Nava Kerala Sadas. The complaint was filed by MK Yoosaf, a native of Vatakara in Kozhikode district.

The complaint alleges that a company, in which Minister Ahammad Devarkovil is a partner, has been court-ordered to pay Rs 63 lakh to Yoosaf. Hence, the government is urged to review the application and facilitate the implementation process.

The complaint asserts that the minister is engaging in deceit by disregarding the court order and failing to return the Rs 63 lakh. In 2011, the company took Rs 50 lakh, with the understanding that Yoosaf would be included as a business partner, alongside Minister Ahammad Devarkovil. Despite Yoosaf’s requests for repayment, no action was taken.

After repeated appeals, a bank cheque was issued but the cheque subsequently bounced. This led Yoosaf to seek legal recourse. During court proceedings, Ahammad Devarkovil, was identified as the Managing Partner of the company.

The complainant highlighted that a previous complaint to the Chief Minister yielded no results.

However, Ahammad Devarkovil later dismissed the allegations as false, attributing them to opposition parties aiming to damage his reputation. He added that he was not directly associated with the complainant and mentioned an ongoing appeal in the High Court.
