Thiruvananthapuram: 29 people sustained injuries in a collision involving two Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses at Moonnukallinmoodu, Neyyattinkara. The accident occurred between a KSRTC bus travelling from Nagercoil to Thiruvananthapuram and another heading to Neyyattinkara from Thiruvananthapuram. Preliminary reports suggest that the overspeeding of the buses was the cause of the collision.
The accident occurred yesterday, and the two buses belong to the Neyyattinkara depot. Both the bus drivers were seriously injured in the accident. They were first taken to NIMS Hospital, but as their injuries were serious, they were later shifted to the Medical College Hospital. An injured female conductor was also admitted to the hospital.
The injured include drivers MS Sunil and Anil Kumar, along with conductors G Dhanya and K Rajesh. Numerous passengers also suffered injuries in the collision.
