ERNAKULAM: Amid daily controversies surrounding the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s extravagant ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ programme, a new issue has emerged regarding the demolition of a school compound wall.
Babu Joseph, the Chairman of the Nava Kerala Sadas Organizing Committee, submitted a letter to the Kochi Corporation Secretary demanding the demolition of the compound wall of Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Perumbavoor. The demand cited the necessity of demolishing the wall to facilitate the entry of a luxury bus scheduled to arrive for the Programme.
In addition to the school wall, the stage, and flagpole within the campus need to be removed to ensure the free passage of the bus carrying Pinarayi Vijayan and other ministers.
The letter addressed to the Secretary by Babu Joseph demands the demolition of a three-meter-wide wall to vehicles to reach the Nava Kerala Sadas programme auditorium. It further demands the removal of the flagpole in front of the school and demolition of the concrete stage. These are the key demands outlined in the letter.
The letter also mentions plans to rebuild the demolished wall and flagpole after the conclusion of the Nava Kerala Sadas program.
