Kollam: In the recent case of the kidnapping and subsequent abandonment of a six-year-old girl in Kollam, police have released a sketch of a woman suspected to be the accused. The sketch was crafted based on information gathered from both the child and a shop owner who had seen the accused.
Around 30 images of different women were shown to the child during the identification process, but none were recognized. The police have intensified their efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects, with DIG Nishanthini leading a team to coordinate the investigation.
Initial findings suggest that the child may have been initially taken to the Varkala area, and there are suspicions within the investigation team that more than one woman may be involved in the abduction. Additionally, there are concerns that the accused may have administered drugs to induce sleepiness in the child.
To gather more evidence, the child’s blood and urine samples have been sent for further testing as part of the ongoing investigation.
