Child kidnap in Kollam: K Surendran criticizes Kerala Police for their negligence in the rescue operation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Surendran, the Kerala BJP State President, highlighted that the child missing from Oyoor in Kollam district was found not by Kerala police, but by a few of college students. Surendran praised the SN College students for their timely action and criticized the Kerala Police for their investigative shortcomings in the case. He credited the organized efforts of Kerala’s people for this successful outcome.

He added, despite a 20-hour statewide search conducted by the Kerala police, it was students from SN College, Kollam, who successfully spotted the 6 year old girl.

The police have not yet found any leads regarding the motive or conspiracy behind the child kidnapping.

Surendran questioned the police’s whereabouts during the time the child was abandoned at the Kollam Asramam ground by the kidnappers, asking why and where their search efforts were focused. Surendran criticized the police for intensifying their search in Thiruvananthapuram while the child was in Kollam, emphasizing that this incident is not an isolated case in Kerala.

He highlighted the ineffectiveness of the AI cameras installed on roads by the Kerala government, mentioning that these cameras, despite being installed at considerable expense, failed to yield any pertinent information. This contradicted the claims made by the Pinarayi government at the time of their installation.

The BJP leader cited last year’s 150 registered kidnapping cases, suggesting a systemic failure in law and order.

Surendran accused the Kerala government’s negligence in law enforcement, citing instances such as the Kalamassery bomb blast and CUSAT stampede as recent examples. Surendran said that the police force in the state primarily focuses on the security of the Chief Minister and their favorites, using brutal attacks against those protesting against Pinarayi’s governance.
