Ernakulam: Actor Suresh Gopi fulfilled Prof MK Sanu’s wish to see India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. Suresh Gopi wrote on social media that ‘Sanu Sir’s wish to see INS Vikrant has been made possible today’. He also shared pictures.
It is reported that the move comes after the news that Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham (Progressive Arts & Literary Organisation) banned Prof MK Sanu from participating in the award ceremony where actor Suresh Gopi was bestowed with the Pandit Karuppan Award. It is said that the actor’s mother Gyanalaxmi was a student of Prof Sanu in school.
“Suresh Gopi is the son of Gyanalaxmi, who was my student in school. She was a studious and well-mannered girl. I have always had that affection for Suresh Gopi and still do so,”
Prof Sanu had said after the news of not inviting him for the award ceremony gained attention. Prof Sanu however dismissed the incident to be not intentional.
Yesterday (December 1) around 3 pm, Suresh Gopi, Prof MK Sanu, CG Rajagopal, and P Ramachandran reached INS Vikrant. Commanding Officer of INS Vikrant Captain Vidhyadhar Harke welcomed and honored Prof MK Sanu by presenting him with a cap.
Professor Sanu spent around an hour and a half on the warship. He felt fortunate to get the chance to see Vikrant. Despite his age, he eagerly explored every part of the ship. Prof Sanu had expressed his wish to see INS Vikrant to Suresh Gopi, after it was presented to the country by our Prime Minister. Suresh Gopi later contacted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and organized the visit for Prof Sanu.
