THRISSUR: A group of Kerala Students Union (KSU), the student wing of the Congress party in Kerala, staged a protest in Thrissur district by throwing rotten eggs at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy.
It has been reported that this morning, around 11:30 am, a group of KSU activists threw rotten eggs at Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy while he was en route to the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ Programme scheduled at the Chelakkara State Assembly constituency in Thrissur district.
The incident took place near Vazhakkode – Chelakkara.
It is reported that the protesters intended to wave black flags and throw rotten eggs at Pinarayi Vijayan. The police forcefully removed the protesters after noticing them. However, some protesters throw rotten eggs at the CM’s convoy vehicle.
The police identified that the KSU Thrissur district president Gokul , Ganesh and other KSU members led the protest.
This incident follows a similar event two weeks ago, where Youth Congress members in Kannur waved black flags at the Nava Kerala Sadas bus carrying the Chief Minister. Subsequently, these members were reportedly assaulted by DYFI volunteers, leading to controversies.
