Kochi: The Kochi Metro is set to conduct a trial run from SN Junction to Tripunithura Station. The trial run, scheduled for 11:30 PM tonight, will test the efficiency and readiness of the tracks, signaling, telecom, and traction works on this route. Tripunithura will be the 25th metro station from Aluva and the final stop of the first phase of Kochi Metro.
One notable feature of this project is the implementation of open web girder technology. This innovation was introduced in the 60-meter section leading up to SN Junction and Tripunithura station.
The construction of Tripunithura Metro Station took place as soon as railway land became available. The location of the metro station, which is within walking distance of Tripunithura railway station, is expected to enhance accessibility for travellers arriving at Tripunithura.
The entire metro service, which spans a distance of 28.12 km, connecting Aluva to Tripunithura, is poised to have a positive impact on the city’s transportation landscape. Regular metro services from Tripunithura are expected to commence soon after the successful trial run , leading to an anticipated increase in the number of passengers traveling to and from the city.
