Thrissur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found that CPI(M) has five secret accounts in Karuvannur Co-operative Bank, where violations of Rs 350 crores has taken place. It has received details of five accounts that handled the party’s cash transactions alone. The ED also said that not less than Rs 50 lakh worth of transactions were done through these accounts. It also pointed out that the accounts were managed by MP Raju and PR Aravindakshan.
ED had earlier found out that CPI(M) had secret accounts in Karuvannur Cooperative Bank. Initially, the information of only two accounts of the CPI(M) was made public. Meanwhile, ED is all set to question CPI(M) Thrissur District Secretary MM Varghese again.
ED has sent summons to Varghese to appear on 19th of this month. He was asked to come in for questioning last Tuesday, but he declined, claiming that Nava Kerala Sadas had taken up his busy schedule.
