Thiruvananthapuram: K Surendran, the BJP State President, strongly condemned the reported attempt by SFI activists to manhandle Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. Surendran asserted that the attack on the Governor was carried out with the tacit support of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
According to ANI reports, Surendran claimed that members of SFI and DYFI attempted to manhandle Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in Trivandrum City on both Saturday and Monday. Speaking to the media, he alleged that the violent incidents occurred with the silent support of the police, and accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of endorsing the perpetrators.
“We strongly condemn the undemocratic acts of the SFI and DYFI, he said”, pointing out the Chief Minister’s alleged support for the individuals involved in the incident.
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has been facing protests from these organizations of the ruling party over the university senate member’s appointment issue.
