Pathanamthitta: Yet another security breach at the Sabarimala has come to light as devotees raised complaints about unnecessary police interventions, even during time of low rush. The alleged incident occurred in Kanamala in Erumeli, where over 50 vehicles were reportedly stopped by the police. Reacting to the complaints, the Devaswom Minister has demanded an explanation from the police and directed that devotees’ vehicles should not be obstructed without cause.
Meanwhile, the High Court has issued guidelines addressing the issue of uncontrolled crowds at Sabarimala. Emphasizing the responsibility of the Devaswom Board in ensuring a seamless darshan experience for devotees, the court directed that areas designed for 100 people standing should not accommodate more than that number. Furthermore, the court directed authorities to prioritize the well-being of those in queues, ensuring they are properly taken care of. The court mandated that only individuals with virtual queue and spot booking tickets should be permitted to proceed, aiming to enhance overall crowd control measures.
