Kollam: Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri has decided to once again take charge of the kitchen at the upcoming Kerala State School Kalolsavam. The decision was made during a meeting of the food committee held on Wednesday, where three individuals submitted tenders for catering services.
Last year, a controversy arose when there was a demand to introduce non-vegetarian dishes at the Kalolsavam venues. This debate led to offensive allegations against Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri. This had led him to announce that he would not be returning to oversee the kitchen for the following year’s event.
The Minister of Education, V Sivankutty, took a stance on the matter during the first meeting of the Kalolsavam Organising Committee. He declared that only vegetarian food would be served at the Kerala State School Kalolsavam. In light of this decision, Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri has once again assumed responsibility for the Ootupura (kitchen) of the Kalolsavam.
This marks the 17th consecutive year that Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri will be preparing food for the Kerala State School Kalolsavam.
