Thiruvananthapuram: In response to the Student Federation of India’s (SFI) move to prevent Governor Arif Mohammed Khan from entering universities, the Governor has decided to confront the challenge head-on. Upon arriving in Kozhikode on Saturday, he was initially scheduled to stay at a regular guest house but later shifted to the Calicut University guest house.
To counteract the potential SFI protest, a robust security system with no loopholes is being meticulously prepared to safeguard the Governor from SFI-related incidents. A high-level review meeting regarding the Governor’s security is reportedly scheduled under the leadership of the intelligence ADGP on Friday.
The state police force has come under intense criticism for its failure to prevent the recent attack on the Governor’s motorcade in Thiruvananthapuram. Moreover, allegations of leaking the Governor’s itinerary have been leveled against the force, putting them under significant pressure.
