CPI(M) State Secretary embarrassed after his son goes absconding when woman he met in a dance bar accuses him of sexual exploitation for many years

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) State Secretary, Kodieyeri Balakrishnan, had been vocal in women empowerment especially when it came to women entry into Sabarimala. However, grass root communist workers were in for a surprise when their leader’s son was embroiled in a case in which he is accused of sexually exploiting a woman on the promise of marriage. The woman has an eight year old son from the alleged relation.

A Bihari woman had filed a complaint against Binoy Kodiyeri for ignoring her and not giving money for raising the child. The duo had met in a dance bar in Dubai, where the complainant was a dancer. Binoy Kodiyeri asked her to move to a flat in Mumbai and used to take the expenses of the woman and the child born to them.

For all these years he had been sexually exploiting her by promising to marry her.

Recently, Binoy stopped giving her money for raising the child even after she asked for allowances. She also came to know that Binoy had already been married. The news of the illicit affair of Binoy came to light only after the woman filed a complaint at a Mumbai Police Station.

After the affair came out, the communist party is on damage control mode. They are hiding their shame with arguments that the father cannot be held responsible for his son’s mistake. However, the woman has explicitly said that she was threatened by Binoy’s family which includes Kodiyeri Balakrishnan too.

Matters began to turn for the worst after Mumbai police arrived in Kerala to question Binoy. An arrest of CPI(M) State Secretary’s son will turn out to be a huge embarrassment for the party. The party is already under pressure after many sexual accusations were leveled against the leaders.

Reports say that Kodiyeri Balakrishnan gave his consent to submit his resignation but was turned down by the party. In a press meet he publically said that he will not help his son in this matter and would not use his capacity as the State Secretary to influence the case proceedings. The party is also shielding the all-powerful State Secretary in this illicit affair of his son.

Meanwhile, reports say that Binoy’s mother, Vinodini Balakrishnan, went to Mumbai to meet the complainant and to work out a compromise.

The Mumbai Police are still hunting for Binoy Kodiyeri to take him into custody to do a DNA test. However, the State Secretary’s son refused a DNA test and has informed the court through his advocate.
