Thiruvananthapuram: Due to heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for four districts today. The districts under an orange alert includes Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki. Additionally, a yellow alert has also been issued for six other districts, namely Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
In light of the adverse weather conditions, fishing activities have been prohibited along the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts. The India Meteorological Department has reassured that, fishing activities along the coast of Karnataka remain unaffected.
However, caution is advised, as there is a possibility of thunderstorms in isolated areas. Residents are urged to exercise care and stay vigilant in light of the potential weather changes.
