KOZHIKODE: Kerala State BJP President, K Surendran, strongly condemned the SFI’s actions against Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, stating that their approach is unacceptable. Surendran accused SFI activists of attacking the Governor with the knowledge and support of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Surendran warned that if such attacks continues, the BJP will stage protests at the CM’s ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ programme venue. He criticized the encouragement given by Pinarayi Vijayan to road-blocking protests and the hindrance of the Governor by SFI members, labeling them as criminal activities.
Surendran stated that halting and attacking the Governor is ‘an insult to democratic society’, indicating a worsening law and order situation in Kerala. He termed SFI’s actions as ‘hooliganism’.
He emphasized that universities in Kerala should not be the sole property of the CPI(M). He also said that it was with Pinarayi’s knowledge that SFI protesters attempted to prevent the Governor’s entry into the university.
